Chai Latte was very good! One of the better ones I've had. The turkey sandwich with brief and cranberry mayo was also top notch. Sandwich wasn't too big or too small, it was just the right. Also the macaroons were massive!! I don't have macaroons often nor do I consider myself an expert when it comes to them but I definitely want to try one when I go back. The only thing is that it is a tad bit pricey - but the alternative is Starbucks which is probably the same price - but you have to remember, you can get Starbucks anywhere.

This coffee shop is a very cute place. It is nestled on the edge of Marriott's Andell inn and the Kiwah island golf resort. The staff seem to be very kind and courteous and the quaint setting fits for a easy morning picker up. Unfortunately for location as I write my review and finish my coffee I await for my croissant sandwich. The dilemma progressed only to realize that my eggs were not even fresh but reheated medallions. If not medallions then certainly liquid eggs. My croissant was indeed light and flakey and served hot however, the Danish was clearly not fresh and was served well chilled. Although the Danish tasted good it failed to give off the freshness that it marketed. Finally my latte was more like a blend of coffee and hot chocolate. It is my hole opinion that their barista may need a bit more training. Overall not great but not bad.

If you want to spend $25 for two small panninis and two waters this is the place for you. You also get to greet yourself and you as the customer greet the server. Then you get listen to the staff chit chat and giggle. The pannini was good but served on a saucer sized plate. Maybe their coffee experience is better!

Typical coffee shop but they make some really great deserts and iced tea! Nice folks working there and even when its crowded they seem to get to you in a timely manner. It sits right on the green of Freshfields village so its convienent when they are having an evernt. They do have outdoor seating and a good amount of seating inside. Just one complaint, the restroom. I know lots of folks use it but really clean it every few hours, just saying.

I've lived in Kiawah Island for 8 years, I've been to it many times when I come on vacation. The coffee is better then Starbucks, and their other frozen drinks are very good to. Their sandwiches are pretty good, service is on and off sometimes their really nice some times they just ignore you. But I really like this place and it's a lot better then Starbucks. And their Frozen Vanilla creme is amazing best drink there. Trust me get the frozen vanilla creme!

My fiancé and I spent the weekend on Seabrook Island and we were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this local coffee spot. On Saturday our coffee came out within 5 minutes, comparable wait to what you'd get at Starbucks, but they completely forgot our pastry orders which we waited an additional 10 minutes for before we asked for them. The cheese Danish was dry and flavorless. The blueberry muffin was doughy. Sunday we came back thinking that maybe Saturday was just an "off" day. This time we waiting 15 minutes for house coffee. Really? The staff seems to have their heads underwater. Management needs to develop a more efficient system so staff can handle the influx of customers on busier days. A plus note, coffee was better than what you'd get at a chain coffee place.

Been going to Kiawah now for five years and for the last few, I've gone to Java Java at least a couple times during my trip. I've always liked it in the past, but this place has taken an turn for the worse. During my first visit we waited 15 for three sandwiches, and one of the sandwiches was wrong and needed to be remade. I got a turkey club, there was a single slice of turkey on the sandwich. The next time I go, again it takes them 15 minutes to make three sandwiches, and during the time I am in there I witness them mess up on two coffee orders - not to mention the quality of the food has seemingly dwindled as well. So poor quality + terrible service means I think my days of Java Java are a thing of the past - and it's a shame, it's not like there are a ton of other good options in the area either.

All the teenagers who works there were on their phones when went to order. Coffee was okay. Nothing too special.

I have been coming to Kiawah Island since I was six years old and this place is the epitome of all of the overpriced and totally overrated businesses they're throwing up in Fresh Fields Village. The interior is definitely cozy and cute but the extent of my praise stops there. The majority of the staff is very curt and unprofessional. The younger employees always look bored or annoyed, probably because working there is just another cruddy summer job to most of them. My father and I both frowned at our fruit smoothies that were too icy to drink through a straw. My mother's coffee was lukewarm. The egg and cheese sandwich I ordered was chewy and unappealing overall. It was a "sad" meal, for lack of a better word. I come here every once in awhile hoping that the quality of the food and service will improve, but it never changes! Lesson learned. I'll be getting my coffee from the nearby gas station from now on.

I've been several time on my way out to Kiawah. It's located in the Freshfields center next to Harris Teeter (formerly Newton Farms). They've got free wifi (password provided). I got my standard venti cappuccino, but YIKES! It was so much more potent than anything I get from Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, or Orange Spot! I normally put two sugars in, but this...I had to put four and it was still whoopass. Last time I tried a normal ol' Americano...same thing. Whoopass! So, be warned. This is high octane coffee! Standard eats available; muffins, rolls, etc.

Thier quiches are delicious, so are the muffins. The coffee is pretty decent. I really like thier vanilla lattes and the Americano, but my cousin had espresso and she said it was just straight up burnt lol! There ample seating as well and of course free WiFi.

Cute place and we're already in a good mood because we're on vacation. We usually get standard coffee, maybe a bagel or muffin, before we head back out on the bike trails. Coffee and food is good. Lackadaisical is the word Id use to describe the staff. They don't smile, there's no conversation, it's probably one of the least inviting coffee shops I've been in. If the Starbucks across the way had a cuter sitting area, we would've gone there instead.

This is a cute little coffee house in the fresh fields plaza. I had high hopes for this place. I ordered a frozen chai and a cheese Danish. My husband ordered one of their breakfast sandwiches. My biggest complaint is the time it takes to get food. I had finished my Danish and drink before my husband got his croissant with egg and cheese. We are talking over 15 minutes here and this seemed to be the norm because I heard other people asking where there food was. I would have forgiven the place if it was packed full of people but there were two other people there and both were waiting for food. So this seems to be a production issue. I would suggest to the owners to figure out a way to pick up service and time. However my frozen drink was fine and atmosphere was fine. Just keep in mind about the wait.

Lovely place! It's fun to hang out with the locals and the vacationers in this low-key cafe. The coffee is the best around the islands.

This is my favorite coffee house-- bar none. The Frozen Java Java Mocha is incredible.

Vacationing on Kiawah Island, we stopped in there one morning for breakfast. It was delightful. I had a ham and cheese croissant and it was to die for. Not your average coffee shop, definitely worth the visit.

The coffee is really good I like the iced mocha but this morning I tried one of their real fruit smoothie called the green goddess very refreshing and tasty!

This place is super cute, and because I love coffee, I really wanted to try this place out before I came home from my vaca. I went in and ordered and iced chai with almond milk (around $1.25 more than Starbucks...WOW), and it was actually pretty gross. They use Tazo - EVERY chai drinker knows what Tazo tastes like - but the ratio of tea to milk was so off that I just tasted the milk. I added some cinnamon and agave to it to try and make it taste better, but no go. There was a line by the time I discovered my distaste for the drink, and the girl was making a lot of drinks, so I didn't want to bother her to add more. I just sucked it down because it was so hot and I needed something to cool me down. Next time I come here - I will come again because everyone else's drinks tasted pretty good - I'm going to order something else. Besides that, the place was cute but kind of dirty, and the people behind the counter were efficient, but not necessarily nice. I'll give it another go before I go back home.

Cute place, but pretty small. Visited on the way out of a weekend stay at Seabrook Island. On a Sunday in July, there were just a couple high school kids handling the register and coffee-making. In a convenient little touristy shopping area including a Grocery Market and a grassy center area, Java Java sells food and various coffee drinks. They also sell loose leaf tea bags, plus local goodies like candles - some made from cut wine bottles - and smoked olive oils. Three large iced coffees were $10+. I put too much cream in my iced coffee, so I asked them to pour out a little, and put more coffee in it. She offered to make me a new one, but I said it was not necessary. Then I watched her grab a little cream cup full of coffee flavor (?) and pour it in, and then run the faucet into the cup. So, it's apparently not brewed coffee, I guess. Nothing special, but in a touristy spot, it's good to have a coffee shop.
